Making of Durga

In 2009 Wales Puja Committee undertook the project ‘Making of Durga’ for the second time. The first ‘Making of Durga’ had been successfully done in 2002. Artist brothers Dibyendu and Purnendu Dey from Kolkata were in Cardiff to create the images of Maa Durga and her children from Papier Mache in 3 weeks time. The project was supported by The National History Museum (St Fagans, Cardiff), The Art Council of Wales, Art Works (Cwmbran) and the Lottery Fund. This is the current set of Pratima used during Durga Puja.
